Rocky Mountain PBS Distances Itself from Controversial Comments
Rocky Mountain PBS is publicly distancing itself from remarks made by Bob Greene, the chairman of its board. These comments surfaced in a social media post where Greene expressed a wish for President Donald Trump to suffer a stroke that would leave him unable to walk or talk. The offensive message emerged in a now-deleted comment made in response to a post about Trump’s 80th birthday, where Greene reportedly stated, “A spectacular stroke left him in a wheelchair, unable to speak, reduced to a drooling, pooping blob.”
Greene has a significant background, boasting over 35 years in sales, marketing, and operations within the entertainment sector. Besides his current position, he has a history of negotiating major deals in the media space, which has helped in expanding revenue opportunities across various platforms.
A spokesperson for Rocky Mountain Public Media stated that they had just become aware of Greene’s comments. They emphasized that such statements breach company guidelines which, among other things, ask employees to separate their personal views from the organization’s content. The guidelines also stipulate that if individuals share personal opinions on social media, they should clearly indicate that these views do not represent the organization.
The spokesperson underscored that the remarks do not align with the values of Rocky Mountain Public Media, pointing out that levels of discourse like this could undermine efforts to foster community cohesion in Colorado.
Meanwhile, President Trump celebrated his 80th birthday by hosting the UFC Freedom 250 event on the South Lawn of the White House, where various fighters showcased their skills.
As this situation unfolds, comments from Greene as well as responses from the White House are awaited as tensions regarding political discourse continue to rise.
