Amanda Seyfried portrays herself as a victim, stating she required a bodyguard following her confrontation with Charlie Kirk.

In a typical move to shift dynamics and portray themselves as victims, actress Amanda Seyfried recently claimed she had to hire a bodyguard due to negative reactions she faced after criticizing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk following his assassination.

“Firstly, I’m entitled to express my feelings, and secondly, I do this without being overtly cruel,” Seyfried stated after calling Kirk “hateful” on social media. This was mentioned in a recent interview with a magazine.

“Yet, there’s a huge amount of fear and animosity, an urge to attack, and what I experienced was just a glimpse of that,” she added with a hint of sarcasm.

Seyfried went on, “I want my children to feel secure in sharing their views, as long as it’s not damaging. So I found myself wondering, ‘What should I do? What should I say?'”

“Suddenly, I was at the airport with my not-so-great bodyguard, and I thought, ‘This is insane,'” the actress mentioned.

As previously reported, Seyfried had initially dismissed Kirk’s assassination in an Instagram comment on September 16, 2025, just six days after the conservative figure’s death, arguing that “he was a hateful person.”

Her post featured a collection of out-of-context remarks from Kirk, many of which have been utilized by others to unfairly label him as a “racist” and “hater.”

Facing backlash, Seyfried composed herself and affirmed, “I’m not going to apologize for that.”

“In any case, I made a comment on one thing,” she insisted at that time, adding, “What I said is completely accurate, and of course, you can have your own opinion.”

Significantly, Seyfried’s recent comments reflect a broader issue within certain circles, suggesting a tendency to avoid acknowledging that anyone on their side could commit such terrible acts. Instead, they often craft narratives positioning themselves as the sole victims involved.
