Jimmy Kimmel Invites Rosie O’Donnell to Guest Host
On his show Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel shared that he asked Rosie O’Donnell if she would be interested in guest hosting while he takes a two-month break. He called it a “special treat” for President Donald Trump.
“I’m hoping you’ll keep an eye out this summer. I’m planning a voluntary break for two months,” Kimmel mentioned, referencing his upcoming hiatus in September 2025.
“We have a great lineup of hosts while I’m away, including Tiffany Haddish, Coleman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, and Jelly Rolle. And as an extra surprise for our Commander-in-Chief, I’ve invited one of his favorites, Rosie O’Donnell, to step in for a bit,” he added.

O’Donnell recently made a public appearance at the Tony Awards, where she criticized Trump in an interview with Variety, labeling him a fraud, narcissist, and psychopath.
Trump Comments on Kimmel’s Talent
“If you grew up in New York, you knew from the start he was a terrible liar. I’ve lived here my whole life, and I remember when his plane got seized at LaGuardia. I remember when he went bankrupt, and when he was calling up pretending to be his own publicist,” O’Donnell remarked.
She asserted, “He’s a cheater, a narcissist, and honestly, if you ask me, he’s a psychopath.” After Trump’s 2024 election victory, O’Donnell relocated to Ireland.
Recently, she discussed her feelings of guilt and shame regarding her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery earlier in the year, despite previously vowing never to do so.
O’Donnell Reflects on Surgery and Politics
In a podcast interview with Jim Acosta, O’Donnell expressed her belief that former Vice President Kamala Harris won the election, feeling confident that the truth will eventually surface.
She stated, “One reason I resigned is that I never thought I’d see a convicted felon returned to power after attempting an insurrection. How could that happen? I really believe Kamala won, and we’re going to figure this out. Others have said this too; I read it online today.”
