Trump Responds to Iranian Ayatollah’s Claims on Memorandum of Understanding

President Donald Trump recently took to Truth Social to respond to remarks made by Iranian Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei regarding the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Iran.

Khamenei, reportedly injured and absent from public view since an Israeli strike that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, addressed the MOU in his first statement after it was digitally signed with the U.S. over the weekend.

“Of course, it was the American president who, out of desperation, used all kinds of leverage to bring this about,” Khamenei remarked.

“We didn’t meet out of desperation, Iran did,” Trump responded on Friday. “They are FINISHED! We’ll play out the 60 days. They get no money, not ten cents!”

The 60-day period mentioned by Trump refers to the time allocated for both nations to finalize an official peace agreement. Vice President JD Vance noted during a briefing that this period commenced on Thursday.

Trump also emphasized that U.S. taxpayer funds would not be used for Iran’s reconstruction, contradicting previous reports suggesting otherwise.

Additionally, Trump criticized claims that Iran is in a stronger position now after U.S. military actions, stating:

“The War has diminished Iran! It doesn’t, any longer, have an Air Force, a Navy, Antiaircraft Equipment, Radar, or practically anything else, and yet the Dumocrats say that Iran is better off now than it was four months ago. Can you imagine getting away with that??? How stupid can some people be???”

Meanwhile, following renewed military activity in Lebanon involving Israel and Hezbollah, a terrorist group backed by Iran, Vance canceled his trip to Switzerland to meet with Iranian officials. However, reports indicate that Israel and Hezbollah have reaffirmed their commitment to a ceasefire, a crucial aspect of the U.S.-Iran agreement.
