On her last day in office, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard unveiled a significant cache of evidence suggesting that former NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci misled Congress and managed U.S. funds for gain-of-function research tied to the pharmaceutical industry’s quest for a “universal vaccine.” She claims he manipulated intelligence agencies to obscure his involvement in the coronavirus pandemic.
Gabbard, who is stepping down to assist her husband in combatting a rare form of cancer, released documents that seemingly confirm long-held suspicions—that Fauci lied to hide potential wrongdoing.
During her announcement, she stated, “Today, I am revealing never-before-seen communications and documents that detail how Mr. Fauci collaborated with politicized leaders in the intelligence community to obscure the facts about the virus’s origins and his role in directing U.S. money toward risky research that has resulted in immense harm and loss of lives.”
According to Gabbard, the information indicates that Fauci played a central role in influencing the intelligence community’s assessment of COVID-19. She cited his 2024 congressional testimony, where he allegedly denied having any discussions with intelligence officials about the virus research—a claim she labels as false.
She further mentioned the testimony of a whistleblower from an intelligence agency who reported backlash for questioning operations related to the virus’s origins.
Ultimately, Gabbard asserts that Fauci leveraged his close ties with intelligence agencies to shield himself from scrutiny. She noted that while this was happening, he was financing “gain-of-function coronavirus research linked to major pharmaceutical companies and the extensive pursuit of a universal vaccine.”
Gabbard accused Fauci of exerting pressure on intelligence agencies to promote the theory that the virus originated naturally, allowing him to emerge as a key voice during the pandemic while silencing his critics.
She described Fauci’s promotion of what she termed a “fraudulent” narrative, during his congressional testimony in 2024, where he denied ever communicating with the intelligence community about the coronavirus.
“The documents I am releasing today contradict Dr. Fauci’s sworn statements,” Gabbard expressed, adding that multiple whistleblowers have come forward to disclose that intelligence analysts who challenged Fauci faced threats and professional repercussions.
“The coronavirus pandemic has brought significant hardship to many Americans and others globally. After years filled with deception and cover-ups, the public deserves honesty and accountability,” she remarked.
“The methods used to conceal the truth reflect tactics common to the deep state,” she said, emphasizing the necessity for transparency. “Leaders like Dr. Fauci, with self-serving motives, undermined the actions of a duly elected president while manipulating information and obstructing vital facts that are essential for our safety.”
