Titans Lock in Jeffery Simmons with Major Extension

The Tennessee Titans have bolstered their defensive lineup by securing star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons on a remarkable three-year contract extension valued at $105.8 million, which includes an impressive $100 million in guaranteed money.

Simmons, who will celebrate his 29th birthday in July, is a key player, having been selected as an All-Pro three times, along with earning his fourth Pro Bowl nod.

This contract may end up ranking among the highest ever awarded to a defensive lineman, further cementing Simmons’ reputation as one of the NFL’s elite interior defenders.

The extension provides a level of stability for the Titans, who are attempting to rebuild after drafting Cam Ward as their franchise quarterback with the first overall pick in 2025.

With this deal, Simmons now stands as the highest-paid player in Titans history and ranks as one of the top earners at his position in the league.

A first-round pick (19th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft from Mississippi State University, Simmons quickly made an impact after excelling in the SEC as a standout lineman.

Even though he dealt with a knee injury that sidelined him at the start of his rookie season, Simmons rapidly established himself as a reliable contributor.

Heading into the 2026 season, Simmons has already been named a Pro Bowler four times in five years. Last year, he achieved a career-high of 11 sacks, forced three fumbles, and registered a record 17 tackles for loss.

In his seven-year career thus far, Simmons has tallied 42.5 sacks, 66 tackles for loss, and eight forced fumbles. His unique blend of size, strength, and athleticism makes him a formidable challenge for opposing offensive lines.
