Rosie O’Donnell: Trump May Use a 'Threat on His Life or a Terrorist Attack' to Postpone Midterms

Rosie O’Donnell’s Concerns About Midterm Elections

Actress Rosie O’Donnell expressed her belief that President Donald Trump might resort to “assassination attempts and bombings” to disrupt this year’s midterm elections.

In a recent interview, author Marianne Williamson remarked on the heightened energy surrounding the elections. “People are motivated and working to confront the evident fraud present in this election,” she noted.

O’Donnell agreed, sharing her own theories about the potential crises facing Trump. “I think he’s likely to face some kind of emergency, beyond collusion—perhaps an assassination attempt or a bombing.” She elaborated, saying, “A catastrophic event will lead him to declare, ‘There’s no election.’ I really believe that’s in the cards.” She referenced “Project 2025,” suggesting that its revelations about the government went unnoticed.

She added, “If they don’t realize they’re prepared to undermine our voting rights, while they’ve already set into motion plans that are deeply problematic, America is in serious trouble.” O’Donnell emphasized the need for hope, stating, “Hope is the last thing to die; we have to believe.”

She expressed enthusiasm about the current state of the Democratic Party but noted her frustration with certain senators who do not seem to act on crucial issues, attributing their inaction to being in the minority.

“Many ethnic minorities have stood firm and made a difference in their countries,” she said, highlighting the courage of those who fight for their rights.

Notably, O’Donnell, who left the U.S. for Ireland prior to Trump’s inauguration in January 2025, has made various returns to the states despite her initial decision. She revealed that her move was intended to safeguard her “sanity” and reduce “stress and anxiety” from the Trump administration.

“I’m in New York right now,” O’Donnell humorously admitted. “But I chose to move to Ireland to protect my family and my peace of mind.” She also mentioned her discomfort with the stress that comes from Trump’s relentless actions.
