Concert Incident at Madison Square Garden

Tragically, a concert attendee died after a fall during Goose’s performance at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, according to police reports.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) indicated that the individual, a 51-year-old man, likely fell from an upper level of the venue, specifically the Arena Bowl.

Officers received a 911 call about an injured man shortly before 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found the man unconscious and unresponsive, with injuries consistent with a fall from a significant height.

Emergency medical personnel rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Reports suggest he fell from the 300 level, which includes upper seating areas that rise well above lower sections.

Local broadcasters noted that he was attending the concert with his wife.

This incident unfolded on the second night of Goose’s two sold-out concert events at the venue.

The band, consisting of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis, released a statement expressing sorrow over the situation. They said, “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic events that occurred at tonight’s show. Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected. We appreciate the emergency personnel and venue staff for their immediate response.”

MSG Entertainment also released a statement, expressing their sadness over the fan’s passing while the investigation is ongoing.

A spokesperson for MSG noted, “While we await the police report regarding the tragedy at last night’s Goose concert, we are deeply saddened by the loss of a fan’s life at Madison Square Garden. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the concert attendees.”

Goose’s next concert is planned for Sunday night at SummerStage in Central Park, which is also sold out according to their tour schedule.
