Trevor Bauer concludes his time with the Long Island Ducks to join a team in Mexico.

Trevor Bauer’s time in the U.S. has officially ended.

The Long Island Ducks have announced that the pitcher has signed with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico in the Mexican League.

Bauer expressed gratitude to the Ducks for his opportunity in Central Islip.

“I want to thank the Long Island Ducks for allowing me to be part of the team,” Bauer stated. “I’d also like to acknowledge my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone behind the scenes who made my experience enjoyable. From the very beginning, I was welcomed and treated exceptionally well, and I’m thankful for the friendships and relationships I can carry with me moving forward.”

Team president Michael Pfaff shared his thoughts on Bauer’s departure.

“Trevor exceeded all expectations during his stint with the Ducks,” Pfaff said. “His dominance on the mound and his dedication to our fans had a significant impact both on and off the field. We hoped to see him return to Major League Baseball from Long Island, but we’re excited for his next chapter and wish him ongoing success in Mexico.”

The Ducks signed Bauer in early April, marking his first engagement with an American team since his suspension by MLB in 2022 for a violation of the league’s domestic violence policy.

Though he faced accusations of assault during two incidents, no criminal charges were brought against him.

Bauer, who had previously played for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan, returned to the Diablos in Mexico after a 2024 season with them.

While with the Ducks, Bauer had an impressive record of 5-1, a 2.36 ERA, and achieved 66 strikeouts. Notably, he set a franchise record with 15 strikeouts in a single game against Gastonia.

Now heading back to Mexico, Bauer still has his sights set on a return to MLB. If he finds his way back to the league, he won’t face additional suspension for any extra innings.
