Emergency calls show Ohio family expressed concerns before reported White House plot

Mother in Ohio informed the FBI about her son's supposed involvement in a UFC-related plan for the White House.

Ohio Mother Calls 911 Over Concerns of Son’s Violent Plans

A recent 911 call has come to light showcasing an Ohio mother’s worries about her 19-year-old son. She expressed concern over his firearms, ammunition, and intentions to join a group she believed was ”fighting corrupt governments.” This call was made just before her son was arrested on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack at a UFC event at the White House.

This recording, which has been released, sheds light on the concerns that led to an investigation into Theisen Proper, one of seven men implicated in what authorities termed an alleged plot against UFC Freedom 250 that occurred earlier this month.

In the call, a relative of Propper’s mother urged authorities to respond to their home. “They’re having some issues with their son,” the caller relayed, mentioning worries about weapons and the mindset of her oldest child.

“I don’t think anyone is in immediate danger,” the caller added cautiously, “but I know she has concerns about the firearms.”

Minutes later, Propper’s mother called dispatch herself. After learning that deputies were already at their residence, she detailed the actions she took prior to reaching out to the authorities.

“We took all the guns and ammunition from his room and removed them from our property,” she informed dispatchers. She mentioned that her son had just returned home and was likely about to notice that his weapons were missing. “He just came into the house and probably notices that it’s not in his room,” she explained. When asked if he was suicidal or abusing drugs, she responded that it didn’t seem to be the case.

Instead, she focused on what had raised her alarms. “We don’t even know what he wants to do,” she said. “He wants to leave this weekend and go with people who help fight corrupt governments and things like that.”

Federal documents indicate that Propper first caught the interest of law enforcement following his mother’s report about his recent firearm purchases and suspicious online interactions. Alarmed by her son researching locations near Washington, D.C., and exchanging maps and images through text messages and Discord, she confronted him. Allegedly, he told members of his group they were preparing for “reconnaissance” and a “hit-and-run mission.”

Upon police arrival on June 10, Propper’s father revealed that his son had been connecting with individuals online and intended to depart that weekend to meet up with them.

Reports have indicated that Propper spent approximately $3,000 of his graduation money on firearms, body armor, ammunition, and tactical gear, with the family cooperating with law enforcement by turning over related items.

Authorities say Propper was one of seven individuals involved in a scheme targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14 at the White House’s South Lawn. The group included others from various states, all of whom allegedly displayed worrying behavioral changes that caught the attention of their families.

It’s been suggested that the group had plans involving drones laden with explosives to incite panic during the event, while having shooters ready to target attendees as they fled.

One member reportedly mentioned, “For $1,300 you can get a drone and a fee,” while another encouraged acquiring as many drones as possible for the operation.

The scope of the scheme included other roles among participants, such as logistics coordinators and social media influencers. Investigators uncovered communications implicating a co-conspirator in discussions about maximizing destruction through drone use.

The documents further allege the intended plan involved a two-pronged attack: one involving explosive-laden drones and another with armed conspirators stationed at exits to catch fleeing attendees.

Prosecutors have suggested that the group aimed to create sufficient chaos to destabilize the U.S. government. In one instance, a participant provided funds for the operation and supplied a shotgun during an in-person meeting.

During raids connected to the case, investigators found a trove of tactical equipment—including firearms, night vision gear, and even a 3D printer for firearm components.

The FBI stated they thwarted the plot before any actions were executed. In light of this case, experts emphasize the significance of families recognizing potential warning signs and reporting their concerns.

In a discussion with media, a former FBI Director commended Propper’s mother for her bravery in alerting authorities, highlighting the risks she faced in doing so.
