Here’s what’s changed since the last mock draft:
- The Nets are likely selecting Mikel Brown Jr. at No. 7, not Darius Acuff: Sources suggest Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr. could be the choice for Brooklyn. This could be a boost for them, as Sacramento has keen interest in Acuff.
- The Hawks may have a tough choice between Kingston Flemings and Aday Mara: Atlanta just signed CJ McCollum for a year, but Flemings is generally viewed as the superior prospect. I think it’s a straightforward choice for them, leading to Flemings being the pick here.
- I considered a Michigan State player for the No. 9 spot, but stayed with Brayden Barrys: Most mocks have Dallas taking Barrys, and I thought about switching to Jaxel Lendeborg or Morez Johnson, but ultimately decided to stick with Barrys.
- Warriors set to pick Aday Mara, while Thunder target Jaxel Lendeborg: Mara seems like a solid fit for the Warriors’ style, and from what I hear, Lendeborg dreams of playing alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in Oklahoma City.
- The Bucks have alternatives at No. 15: They’ve worked out LaBaron Fillon, indicating interest. Other prospects they brought in earlier are no longer options in this mock, so either Mores Johnson or Karim Lopez could work for them.
- The Bulls’ intentions at No. 15 are unclear: Chicago may lean towards selecting Morez Johnson or Aday Mara, but I put Hannes Steinbach in this position. Although he’s one of my top choices, he might not deliver the defense Chicago seeks to pair with Caleb Wilson. Additionally, they just traded for Nic Claxton.
- Chris Cenac is slipping: Although I highlighted Cenac earlier, he appears to need more development both physically and mentally. In this mock, he lands with the Knicks at No. 24.
