East Hampton deli's popular $120 lobster salad is now even pricier.

Two years back, a deli in Long Island made headlines by offering lobster salad at $120 per pound, and remarkably, prices have continued to rise since then.

The upscale Red Horse Market, located in the affluent area of East Hampton, New York, has now raised the price of its luxury items even further. Today, a recent image of their deli case reveals lobster salad being sold for a staggering $129.99 per pound, which is nearly an 8% hike from the original price that first caught public attention.

Lobster rolls are a popular treat on the East Coast during summer but they usually range from $25 to $40 or even higher, depending on where you are.

At these current rates, getting enough lobster salad to fill a typical roll (about 4 to 6 ounces) would set you back between $32 and $49, and that doesn’t even factor in the bun and toppings. The market manager, Christian Pineda, mentioned in an interview that they’re mainly receiving complaints from only a handful of customers regarding the pricing.

Pineda explained, “We have to set this price because of the quality. Our customers primarily focus on quality—the importance of local produce, especially with meat and seafood.”

When the lobster salad’s price was first revealed, Reddit users quickly chimed in with their sarcastic takes. One user remarked, “They should make it fresh for that price! Would you really pay $120 a pound for something that looks neglected?”

Another weighed in, saying a fresh catch is a must if you’re coughing up that much money. Responses varied, with some expressing outrage over paying top dollar for lobster meat alone, even without the extra ingredients that come in the salad.

Interestingly, not everyone was shocked by the steep prices, especially considering the deli’s location. “I don’t know a lot about lobster prices,” one local commented, “but Red Horse Market is usually one of the more reasonable lunch spots around here.”

In fact, another individual said, “I’d probably love to give it a shot. Half a pound seems doable.”

As for now, Fox News Digital has reached out for further comments from Red Horse Market.
