Scotland’s Tartan Army Brings World Cup Excitement and Philanthropy to U.S. Cities

With their unmistakable enthusiasm, Scotland’s Tartan Legion has made their mark in several U.S. cities ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, focusing on charitable efforts as well. They managed to raise over $21,500 for local causes in Rhode Island, including a notable contribution to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Member David Hood emphasized their cheerful vibe and memorable celebrations.

Fans globally have witnessed remarkable moments during this World Cup, but honestly, it feels like the Tartans might be stealing the spotlight in a way. They certainly took over Boston like it was 1775, scoring two victories against Haiti and then experiencing a loss to Morocco.

What’s next for them? Well, it appears they’re heading to Miami in hopes of claiming another victory against Brazil.

After conquering Boston, the Tartans are now in Miami for a match against Brazil.

The Scots have a decent shot at advancing to the finals as a third-placed team, but they face a tough challenge with Brazil on Friday. Yet, the fans aren’t overly concerned with who’s on the opposing side; they’re just there to enjoy the experience. Much like in Boston, their adventure began at a Major League Baseball stadium.

Given such an incredible turnout, the Marlins might want to think about hosting a Scottish Heritage/Tartan Army Night regularly.

Beyond that, the atmosphere was just breathtaking. The Scots have a welcoming spirit, ready to include anyone—yes, even a dog! In particular, a Goldendoodle has gained quite the following on social media; it was almost dressed in a kilt and had its face painted like a character from Braveheart.

After taking over the stadium, the Tartan Army clearly decided that Miami should also be theirs. What a vibrant fan base! Hopefully, everyone remembered to bring sunscreen.

It’s evident they are making the most of their first World Cup appearance in 26 years.

Scotland certainly hopes to triumph over Brazil and secure a spot in the knockout rounds, but that’s going to be no small feat. Interestingly, even if they can’t clinch a win, there’s still potential for advancement if they finish third—assuming they’re among the top eight teams in that position.

To achieve that, a draw against Brazil would definitely be beneficial.
