Trump’s Focus on Domestic Issues

As I’ve reported on Iran over the past few months, I’ve consistently maintained that President Trump should shift his focus back to domestic matters and leverage his political clout to tackle the issues we face here.

So, when I saw him threaten to veto the recently passed housing bill unless it included the Save America Act, I found it quite refreshing.

We live in a time where survival is key. The adversary is an unyielding, demonic force, and my intuition tells me that overcoming it is essential.

Pressing for election integrity should be the battle he tackles. Honestly, the housing bill has already sparked division among his supporters, so he risks little politically by opposing it. Instead, it’s more about improving his negotiation leverage while delaying the inevitable struggle for unity within his party.

It’s a bit frustrating because his party controls Congress right now. But, well, this is the world we’re in. And let’s be real—John Thune (RS.D.) is still falling short.

If Trump does indeed veto the housing bill without the SAVE Act, I’d say there’s about a 50-50 chance Congress might just ignore him. Ironically, that might actually not be a bad thing. If overridden, he could really dive into domestic issues—exactly where his focus needs to be as we head toward midterms and beyond.

Personally, I don’t see him losing much ground here unless he backs down.

He can’t pick this fight now, and it feels like a classic game of chicken. Remember “The Hunt for Red October”? The hardest part about playing chicken is knowing when to flinch.

And with America approaching its 250th anniversary, it doesn’t feel too much to ask Congress to uphold one of the fundamental rights of the people: free and fair elections. That’s also a key reason we celebrate.

On a positive note, I think it’s vital for Trump, who has always excelled at negotiations based on leverage, to realize this is a critical opportunity for him.

Are we living fully, or are we merely enduring?

The pressure is mounting—not just for Trump but for the nation as a whole. Take New York, for instance. It’s being handed over to those leaning toward Islamic socialism.

The recent primaries for Democratic House districts unfolded just as Socialist Mayor Zoran Mamdani had envisioned, aiming to make the city his version of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, many Republicans seem oblivious to the signs of our times, thinking they can still read the mood accurately.

This is exactly why voters turned their attention to Trump in the first place. He’s currently the only reliable figure they see.

So, which political alliances can we foster to facilitate winning elections and pushing legislation that reflects the majority’s desires?

But that’s just the Republican Party. Decades of institutional missteps have created a binary political landscape. We have no choice but to make the best of our situation—it’s either team GOP or nothing.

Frankly, I dislike being in this predicament. Much of my career has been about sidestepping it. Still, here we are in the world as it is.

You might hold profound moral or philosophical disagreements with certain government members—disagreements that would have seemed irreconcilable in previous times. But this isn’t one of those times.

We are in an age where survival matters. The enemy is relentless, and my moral compass indicates that defeating it is crucial for our future.

There are two worldviews at play. Whether Republicans understand it or not, this is the only logical strategy ahead. Our team is on the field.

No matter what, I plan to come out victorious.
