The Golden State Warriors have chosen Jaxel Lendeborg, a former forward from Michigan, with the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
For Lendeborg, fitting into the Warriors’ locker room will be crucial, given the notable personalities within the team. It looks like one of the most prominent figures is keeping the new players on their toes.
Lendeborg and another draft pick, Rajai Jones, held their introductory press conferences on June 26.
When asked whether he had heard from veterans like Steph Curry or Draymond Green post-draft, Lendeborg shared, “Yes, the night of the draft, Steph welcomed us both in the group chat. [Rajai] got drafted, and then I was chosen.”
“I also reached out to [Curry] yesterday with a quick question, and I contacted Draymond too. I haven’t heard back from Draymond yet,” Lendeborg said, chuckling a bit.
In a light-hearted response, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. remarked, “Don’t worry, he doesn’t respond to me either.”
Shortly after, a possible reason for Draymond’s lack of response became apparent. A video surfaced showing him enjoying himself alongside Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum in Paris, where they were seen dancing and lip-syncing to a track by rapper Drake from his latest album.
Perhaps when Draymond returns from his Paris escapade, he’ll get back to Lendeborg.
