Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift have reportedly decided against holding their wedding in Rhode Island, citing safety concerns.
A source indicated that both had initially hoped to tie the knot there on June 13. However, they found that security resources would not be adequate for an event of that scale, which could potentially spiral out of control.
Plans had originally included the “Ocean House” in Westerly, but those plans have since shifted to New York, according to the same source.
Security personnel for Swift reportedly assessed various venues to gauge what would be feasible for the occasion.
The obstacles in Rhode Island were mainly related to accessibility and securing boundaries, which were deemed too challenging.
A different source mentioned to Us Weekly that the guest list had grown significantly, necessitating the change in venue.
Page Six attempted to reach out to representatives for Swift and Kelsey, but no response was received right away.
As reported by Page Six, Swift and Kelsey, both 36, are now set to exchange vows at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
“Everyone has been sworn to secrecy,” the source added.
Notable guests like Karlie Kloss, Zoe Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez are rumored to be on the invite list for this high-profile event.
According to further reports, performers such as Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw are expected to entertain at the wedding, potentially making it even more lavish than the Met Gala.
Swift is also said to be planning multiple costume changes throughout the festivities with Kelsey.
To ensure their ceremony remains safe and private, the couple has requested permits, arranged closed roads around The Garden, and set up a public tent outside the venue.
