Khadija Farrakhan Passes Away at 90

Khadija Farrakhan, the wife of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, has died at the age of 90. She and Louis were married for an impressive 72 years.

On Saturday, a statement was released by Student Minister Ishmael R. Muhammad, expressing the grief of Minister Louis Farrakhan. He remarked, “With deep sadness and gratitude to Allah, I announce that my beloved wife of 72 years, Mother Khadijah, First Lady of the Nation of Islam, has returned to the presence of Allah.”

There was an emphasis on gratitude for her life, stating, “We thank Allah for the precious life of our beloved wife and mother, a faithful and devoted follower of His Highness Elijah Muhammad.” The statement continued, expressing hopes for comfort for the family during this challenging time, while also noting that funeral services would be announced later.

Interestingly, it’s said, “O Allah, there is no god but Him. He gives life and to Him is our final return.” Reflecting on life and loss, it feels like a moment that resonates deeply, doesn’t it? At 93 years old, Louis Farrakhan is left with cherished memories of his wife.

Khadija, originally named Betsy Ross, married Louis, then known as Louis Wolcott, on September 12, 1953, in Boston. Together, they raised nine children, including two sons, Louis Farrakhan Jr. and Joshua Farrakhan, who passed away in recent years.
