Suspected Cuban influence agent and family detained following Rubio's efforts

Federal Arrests of Three Cubans Following Rubio’s Legal Status Change

This week, three Cubans were taken into custody by federal agents, including one identified by the Trump administration as having spent over a decade involved with a Cuban government influence organization in the U.S. This happened after Secretary of State Marco Rubio lost his legal status.

The State Department revealed that Carlos Antonio Roga Dominguez, along with his wife and son, is now awaiting deportation from the United States.

According to officials, Lloga Dominguez worked for an organization known as the Institute for the Friendship of the Cuban People (ICAP), which allegedly serves as a major front for the Communist Cuban regime in the U.S. He’s suspected of maintaining connections to a broader network tied to communist subversion during his time living in the country.

A senior official commented to Fox News Digital, expressing that this reflects “America first leadership in our region.”

Federal Investigation into Nonprofit Collaborations with Cuba

ICAP recently faced sanctions, and while the group disputes any allegations against them, they maintain that they function as a civil society organization.

The State Department accuses ICAP of promoting anti-American propaganda, cultivating pro-Cuban regime activists, lobbying politicians, and having significant influence throughout the United States.

Originally established under Fidel Castro in 1960 to spread Marxism, ICAP has been implicated in working with leftist groups in America to propagate Cuba’s communist ideals.

The State Department claims ICAP represents “the central nexus of a vast Cuban intelligence and influence operation,” with ties to over 2,000 organizations globally.

Sanctions from Rubio have effectively frozen ICAP’s U.S.-based assets, restricting Americans from engaging with the organization.

Rubio made a statement on social media declaring, “The United States will never be home to foreign communists peddling propaganda… If you do business with ICAP, you will be sanctioned, prosecuted, or removed from our country.”

Evidence gathered by an investigation indicates that ICAP officials have collaborated with various American nonprofits to support the Cuban Communist Party in recent years.

These groups, many funded by activist Neville Roy Singham, include organizations like People’s Forum, Breakthrough News, and Code Pink.

Altogether, around 145 nonprofits and advocacy groups in the U.S. are reported to support the Cuban government, with combined revenues estimated at about $1 billion.

Currently, both the Justice Department and the Treasury Department are probing this alleged influence campaign.

Earlier this year, Code Pink, co-founded by Jodie Evans, organized a convoy delivering aid to Cuba after President Trump established an oil blockade. This convoy has attracted federal interest, and Evans has mentioned being questioned by officials about potential violations of U.S. sanctions.
