Hello, everyone.
Apologies for my absence yesterday! I had an early morning commitment in Washington DC for another job and the timing just didn’t align.
I’ll be away again tomorrow, visiting family in Jersey, but I’m here now. Let’s dive in.
rookie numbers
I genuinely appreciate this country and all that comes with it—from love for the West to the bonds with colleagues, and the communities we are part of. Nothing surpasses my love for my family.
As we near our 250th anniversary, there’s plenty to feel grateful about.
Still, I need to point out that these are pretty basic numbers.
For instance, Ireland has ancient rock walls from local tribes that predate us. And let’s not even get started on some Catholic churches in Europe.
Socialism seems to be spreading rapidly across the country, and if we don’t take action, we might be in real trouble. Remember, Mamdani isn’t just planning to foreclose on properties; he’s freezing rent first, then foreclosing. He’s taken control of the thermostat. During earthquakes or extreme heat, there’s nothing that signals a decline more than instructing people to keep their air conditioning set near 80 degrees.
This also applies to the July 4th weekend.
New York, Chicago, Seattle, Washington, Colorado… and California, definitely California. We’re on the brink of having a fully socialist governor. They’re advancing and gaining ground.
One of the saddest things, I think, is the indifference among other conservatives. Did you know conservatives once dominated Hollywood? Quentin Tarantino reminisced about this in his film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. On screen, environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio tossed around the term “dirty hippie” like it was just a casual descriptor.
Remember when Ronald Reagan was president of the Actors Guild? Not too long ago, if someone was suspected of being a communist, you could be blacklisted.
Now, they’re handing out Oscars to films that glamorize domestic terrorism against immigration enforcement.
Harvard and Yale have transitioned from being solid bastions of right-wing ideology to showcasing names like “Joy Reed” or “Claudine Gay.” Pick your favorite.
And all this? It happened alarmingly fast. Basically, in just one generation. My fellow conservatives often study history, yet so many seem to forget that the significant tragedies caused by communism also transpired within a single generation.
When it comes to discussions about universities, public schools, cities, and Hollywood, the response is often just a shrug. It’s disheartening. Really? Are you a descendant of those who crossed the Delaware River in a snowstorm to take down the Hessians?
We need to step up now, especially as we celebrate over 250 years of existence. It’s about reclaiming our civic responsibility. Get involved in your local community. Follow the curriculum in your local schools. Make your voice heard at city council meetings. In short, “Show up.”
Being late is acceptable. George was late to Trenton, yet he still triumphed.
The essence is we cannot afford to resign ourselves to defeat. They possess no territory worth surrendering. We must occupy their significant places and challenge their status quo. If we can’t seize control of their institutions, we must bring them down.
Drawing a line in the sand isn’t sufficient. Like George, we must strive to rise above the struggle and continue pushing forward.
Julius Caesar once crossed the Rubicon River in 49 BC, igniting a civil war in Rome. This act highlighted deep corruption and the turmoil of the Roman Republic’s final days. Despite his tragic end, Caesar’s victory played a considerable role in establishing the Pax Romana—a two-hundred-year period of stability that paved the way for the spread of Christianity.
This act, akin to George at Delaware, significantly contributed to the growth of the West as we understand it today.
If they had simply given up, saying, “There’s nothing I can do,” none of this progress would have happened.
As we mark our 250th year, let’s remember our ancestors and the courage that shaped us.
They are our forebears; we should honor that legacy.
