1 dead, 21 injured in Austria bar fire on New Year’s Day

Early in the new year, a fire broke out at a bar in the southeastern Austrian city of Graz, killing one person and injuring 21 others.

Austrian police said the fire broke out at around 4 a.m. at a bar in the city center where people were attending a New Year's party.

Styrian police said in a statement that one person, who has not yet been identified, suffered fatal injuries.

Fire breaks out at hospital in Austria overnight, killing 3 patients

At least three more people remain in critical condition in hospital intensive care units.

The victim, whose identity remains unknown, sustained fatal injuries, and the other three remain in critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit.

The cause of the fire, which started at the bar's entrance, was not immediately known.
