Tennessee police wrangle wayward beaver out of hospital on Christmas Day

Tennessee State Police released a video of an officer capturing a wild beaver in an unlikely location: a hospital on Christmas Day.

The Bartlett Police Department posted video of the bizarre incident on Instagram Wednesday. Hospital management at St. Francis Hospital called police after receiving a report of the animal.

“You all requested body camera footage from the St. Francis Beaver Wranglers. So…ask for it and you will receive it,” Bartlett Police Department he wrote in his Instagram caption. The police department also included audio of the 911 call.

“I didn't know who to call and thought maybe they could help,” a hospital worker told police. ”[A nurse] They told me there was a beaver in the lobby of the hospital and I wanted them to call animal control. ”

“Albert,” a pot-bellied pig from Wisconsin, comes to your house lured by fruit snacks: “Sweet, sticky treats.”

“Beaver?” the police operator asked. “Well, if it's inside…”

“Yes, it's in the lobby of the hospital,” the caller said.

“Oh my god. That's so weird,” the police operator laughed. “Let’s see what I can do. I'll try calling the lieutenants…maybe they can rub it out. ”

In the humorously edited footage, can-can music plays as officers try to crush the cranky beaver with a stick and push him into a cart. The animal continued to burrow under the furniture.

The beaver finally relented and climbed into the cart. The car was taken outside and fell into a nearby river.
