Lamar Jackson lapping the field after monster win over Dolphins

The NFL MVP race is almost over.

After weeks of players bouncing back and forth at the top of the odds board, Lamar Jackson has nabbed the title of the league's most valuable player.

Jackson had an incredible performance in Sunday's win over the Dolphins and is now -20,000 away from winning the award at FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Ravens quarterback had perhaps the best game of his six-year NFL career, completing 18-of-21 through the air for 321 yards and five touchdowns for the third time in his career. He was a perfect passer.

Baltimore defeated Miami 56-19 for its second impressive win in the past two weeks.

With this win, the team improved to 13 wins and 3 losses, securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC with one week left in the regular season.

Jackson led the Ravens to the best record in the NFL despite a number of injuries on offense.

Heading into Week 18, Jackson had thrown for a career-best 3,678 yards with a 67.2 completion percentage and 29 total touchdowns (24 passing, 5 rushing).

No other player has a better than 16/1 chance of upsetting Jackson and winning MVP.

Dak Prescott (+1600), Brock Purdy (+2500), and Josh Allen (+3000) are the only three players with odds above 50/1.

Jackson started the season with the sixth-best odds (+1400) at Caesars Sportsbook to win this award.

As recently as two weeks ago, Jackson was still at +500, trailing only 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

But after a stunning 33-19 victory over San Francisco on Christmas Day, Jackson assumed championship favorite status.

Now, Jackson, who is not scheduled to play in Week 18, may not even be on the field in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Barring a miraculous performance from a rival player, Jackson will win his second MVP award no matter what happens during the final weekend of the NFL regular season.
