Mexican beauty queen dies Friday when the car she was driving hit a utility pole and overturned.
Tania Alessi Marin Cruz, 27, crashed into a pole on the side of the Mexican Pachuca highway near Matilda around 6 a.m., causing her car to overturn. According to World Today News.
Cruz, a law school graduate, was representing the state of Hidalgo in the 2023 Mexicana Universal Beauty Pageant.
The state attorney general's office issued a statement confirming the death of Cruz, a department official who worked on the litigation team.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of our colleague Tania Alessi Marin Cruz and we hope that during this difficult time they find the peace and solace they need to overcome their loss. . Rest in Peace,” Hidalgo officials wrote.
In addition to her modeling and legal work, Ms. Cruz participated in local social activities and supported breast cancer awareness campaigns.
“I'm passionate about my work because it allows me to listen to people, be a tool of help, and an agent of change,” her last Instagram post read.

“My biggest inspiration is my aunt, who is a breast cancer survivor. I went through this process up close with her.”
After Cruz's death, her account was flooded with condolences.
“Alessi…like so many others, you too have left your mark! The light and love you gave us will remain in our hearts forever. Fly high” Mexicana Universal Hidalgo wrote on his Facebook page.
