Sean McVay makes decision on 2024 Rams return

Sean McVay isn't ready to leave the Rams just yet.

After retirement rumors swirled around McVay in recent years, the 37-year-old has committed to remain Los Angeles' head coach through his eighth season in 2024.

upon “Coach McVay Show” He told host JB Long that he “can promise” the show will continue next season. That means he'll be back in the saddle to become the winningest head coach in franchise history.

The Rams (9-7) beat the Giants on Sunday, clinching a playoff berth with their sixth win in seven games after a 3-6 start.

McVay, who led the Rams to a Super Bowl championship two seasons ago, won 69 games in the regular season, six behind Rams all-time leader Jon Robinson. His seven playoff wins are already the most ever by a Rams coach.

McVay and general manager Les Snead, who led the Rams to the Super Bowl five seasons ago when the Rams lost to the Patriots, have both agreed to contract extensions before the 2022 season, and both have signed contracts for the 2026 season. He will remain with the Rams until the 2020 season.

After the Super Bowl win, the Post's Andrew Marchand reported that Amazon Prime Video was offering McVay up to five years and $100 million as an analyst on Thursday Night Football. Fox was also interested in him, but reported that McVay had made that decision. Back to the Rams.

The team then had its worst season since McVay became the youngest head coach in NFL history in 2017, finishing 5-12. Los Angeles had a winning record in each of his first five seasons, with double-digit wins in four of those years.
