Per Pelissero's report, the move will give Cook “an opportunity to play on a playoff team.”

Cook, 28, began his career in Minnesota after being drafted 41st overall by the Vikings in 2017.

He has eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards in each of the past four seasons, including a career-high 1,557 yards in 2020.

Cook was released by the Vikings in June 2023 and signed with the Jets in August of the same year.

He becomes the Jets' latest high-profile addition to the acquisition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers in April 2023, giving the Jets hopes of making a Super Bowl appearance.

Of course, the championship bubble quickly burst when Rodgers injured his Achilles just four plays into his career with the Jets.

The team lost to the Dolphins last month and was eliminated from playoff contention.

Cook appeared in 14 games with the Jets, rushing for 214 yards and receiving 15 times for 78 yards.
