Actress Roma Downey, best known for “Touched by an Angel,'' has published a new children's book. “Moon Message”
She recently told CBN News that the book is based on her childhood.
“This story in this book has been in my heart for a really long time,” she told CBN Digital. “Her mother died when I was very young. I was only 10 years old.”
“To say we were hurt is an understatement. We were not even prepared for the disease. Watching parents suffer and go through a long illness can be traumatic and distressing for a child.” I know it’s sexual,” she said. “But…there was no warning, so it was like someone had turned off the lights in our lives.
“If I were to make a movie about my life, my childhood would be completely in Technicolor, and then when my mother died, the movie would go black and white,” she said. added.
She became close to her father and said the family relied on faith to get through difficult situations.
“I wonder how we would have coped if we didn't have faith to draw on, if we weren't people of faith,” she said. “I really don't know. … As Christians and as believers, we understand the promises of Christ on this issue, the promise of heaven, the resurrection of the body, and all the things that we hope for.” I was taught and believed. ”
According to the book's description, when Downey went to college, her father pointed to the moon and told her, “Whenever you feel lonely, look up at the night sky and you'll see how much I love you.” Leave a message on the moon. ”
