The Las Vegas Raiders will conduct a head coaching search this offseason.

And one of the Raiders' star players wants interim coach Antonio Pierce to keep his job.

Davante Adams spoke to the media on Wednesday in support of Pierce, adding that others in the locker room also support Pierce.

“That's obviously who I wanted, that's my vote, and I've been vocal about it,” Adams said. “Basically the whole locker room is like that, and for good reason. He came in and did a great job. That's what kept us hooked.”

“It's not just about being comfortable. I think having AP here is good for this organization. He kind of embodies what it means to be a Raider. That mentality. , that swag, and everything he stands for is all about what he believes in.'' Definitely rooting for him. ”

Since Josh McDaniels was fired as the Raiders' head coach, Pierce has drawn attention to how the team has rallied around his energetic coaching style.

From Outkick: Joe Flacco states the obvious: He's old enough to be the father of several of his Browns teammates.

Although the Raiders will not advance to the playoffs, Pierce enters the team's final game against the Denver Broncos with a 4-4 record as head coach.

Pierce, a former standout linebacker with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants, said he is a player's coach and has benefited teams looking for a different leader than McDaniels.

“He has a realistic approach and mindset about how the game should be played and what he expects from his players, and it's easy to let that slip,” Adams explained.

Pierce already has a trusting relationship with the players, and having someone like Adams backing him up should be a huge help to owner Mark Davis and the Raiders' front office.

“I can give a flashy presentation, I've seen it before,” Pierce told USA Today last week, adding that “the resume is on the lawn.” “You can put out stats, you can put out resumes, but the best thing that happened to me was an opportunity. … My worst day, which was going to be my worst day as a head coach, was my first day.

“Hopefully Mark Davis feels improvement and growth within our team. He understands the style and play he wants the Raiders to play. He understands the fan base behind us. He loves coming to work, he loves being here, he sees the building. And at the end of the day, we have to win.”
