The Yankees have been quiet since trading for Juan Soto.
The same goes for most of the baseball world.
Even now in 2024, there are still plenty of free agents.
What will the Yankees do next?
Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman discuss that and all things free agency on a new episode of their podcast, “The Show.”
Brad Ausmus, who has been appointed as the Yankees' bench coach, will also participate and talk about his reasons for coming to the Yankees and his goals for the 2024 season.
Podcast “The Show” with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman:
- Yankees inactivity: There are still plenty of free agents on the board. The Yankees were confident they would sign Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but that didn't happen. They have to pivot and pitch. It's not a deep rotation. They need two starting pitchers. where should they go?
- Mets quietly: What should the Mets do? They need starting pitching and bullpen help. The bullpen market is largely untouched. Hector Nellis? Matt Moore? Jordan Hicks?
Brad Ausmus interview:
yankees bench coach
- Yankees bench coach: Ausmus went into some front office and tried to get an interview, but nothing happened. Aaron Boone contacted him to become bench coach.
- do: If he increases his on-base percentage, it will give Aaron Judge more opportunities. They need everyone else to contribute up and down the lineup.
- win: Ausmus wants to win the World Series with the Yankees.
