Olympic gold medalist and hurdler Sydney McLaughlin encourages her fans to reject perfectionism because only God is perfect.
in a recent interview christian post, Levrone spoke about his upcoming book, Far Beyond Gold: Running from Fear to Faith. She explained that the title of her book emphasizes that it is not about medals, records or titles. They will all perish. ”
“The only constant is our faith in Christ. That is the most valuable thing,” Levrone insists, adding that his purpose in life is “to share that truth with others so that they know the Lord and believe Him.” “To be able to love,” he added, “in the way I have come to know and love.” ”
“God has been so kind to me, first of all, to give me the opportunity to realize that I fail without him and that I need him,” she said. She said, “Having lived a long life apart from God and trying to succeed by a worldly measure of what success looks like, even when I achieved it, I was always left empty.'' .”
Levrone emphasized that perfection was “unattainable in this world” and encouraged readers to “always strive for excellence” and “always strive to do things in a way worthy of God's call.”
“At the end of the day, we are fallen, sinful humans who are destined to fail in this world,” she continued.
“When we try to achieve perfection, we diminish our need for Christ,” she said. “When we thank Jesus as our Savior, we humble ourselves and recognize that we are not perfect.”
“The Lord is sufficient in all things, and being able to glorify Him through my career and track life has shown me a purpose bigger than myself,” Levrone added. “Being able to share the gospel in moments like that is everything. This point shows that even what should be the pinnacle of an athlete's career is actually about the Lord.”
