Ford says it sold nearly 2M vehicles in the US in 2023

Ford announced Thursday that it will sell about 2 million vehicles in the U.S. in 2023, its highest sales since 2020.

This sales increase was 7.1% from 2022, when the company's U.S. sales were 1.86 million units.

Ford is touting the sales performance of its F-Series trucks, with sales up 15% in 2023 compared to the previous year. The automaker said annual U.S. truck sales reached nearly 750,800 units.

The F-Series recently celebrated being America's best-selling truck for 47 consecutive years and the best-selling vehicle for an additional 42 years.

Ford said its annual hybrid sales rose 25%, with 37,229 hybrids sold in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the company announced that it sold 72,608 electric vehicles in 2023, an 18% increase over the previous year. Ford said the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E contributed to the growth, with the latter having its best sales year since its launch in 2021.

Ford remains the second most popular electric vehicle seller in the United States after Tesla.
