Trump, Haley make gains in latest New Hampshire poll

Former President Trump and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley are gaining support among likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire, according to recent polls.

American Research Group poll Haley's poll was 33 percent. 4-point increase among likely Granite State Republican primary voters in survey conducted from Dec. 27 to Jan. 3 From December survey.

Former President Trump has also shown a slight increase, with the poll showing his approval rating at 37% compared to 33% last month. Trump and Haley remain 4 points apart in more recent polls, as well as earlier polls.

Last month, the former president expressed his displeasure with the previous investigation in a post on Truth Social.

“The fake New Hampshire poll was published on Birdbrain,” Trump said of Haley, using her nickname. “Another scam! Fox News, whose ratings have been challenged, intends to stay on the air until the end. Mr. Sununu is now one of the least popular governors in the U.S. Real poll.”

Haley's rise comes despite the recent controversy she gave in a New Hampshire town hall on the causes of the Civil War, during which she did not mention slavery.

“Well, stop asking me the easy questions,” Haley said at the time. “So I think the cause of the Civil War was basically the way the government was run, the freedoms, what people could and couldn't do.”

Voters then criticized her response, saying it was “remarkable” that she did not mention slavery when discussing the causes of the Civil War in 2023.

“What do you want to say about slavery?” the former UN ambassador asked.

The survey was conducted from Dec. 27 to Jan. 3 and included interviews with 600 likely New Hampshire Republican primary voters. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.
