He added: “Every dollar received by former President Trump violates the Constitution's strict prohibition on payments from foreign governments, which the Founders established to prevent presidents from selling out U.S. foreign policy to foreign leaders. “I am doing so,” he said.
The report alleges that at least $5.5 million in payments to the Trump Organization came from China or Chinese-owned companies.

The Democrats' accusations come at a time when it seems likely that House Republicans will vote to impeach President Joe Biden in the coming months. Before going on Christmas break, the House of Representatives voted to formally launch an impeachment inquiry against Biden over his alleged knowledge of and involvement in the overseas business dealings of his family members, particularly his son Hunter.
The four hotels, most notably the newly renovated Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., which was sold to President Trump in 2022 and is now the Waldorf Astoria, are popular with tourists, including international visitors. It has become a destination. His three other hotels are the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York, and the Trump World Tower at 845 United Nations Plaza in New York.
Financial records used in the report were provided to House Democrats by Trump's former accounting firm, Mazars USA LLC, after a lengthy legal battle involving Trump's lawyers.
