A Georgia sheriff's deputy was killed Thursday morning when he was struck by another law enforcement vehicle during a police pursuit that entered Alabama.
The Coweta County Sheriff's Office announced that Deputy Eric Minnix was killed in the crash after a Georgia law enforcement pursuit of the stolen vehicle continued into Alabama.
“Eric was struck by a police cruiser during the arrest of the suspect and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital,” the sheriff's office said in a social media post.

“We lost a good deputy. We lost a good man and a good friend,” the sheriff's office wrote.
Police in Georgia were tracking the stolen vehicle, and the pursuit continued into Alabama, where the fatal crash occurred. (Fox News)
WRBL-TV reported that the crash occurred on Interstate 85 in Chambers County, on the Georgia-Alabama border.

Mr. Minnix, also a K-12 police officer, is survived by his wife and three daughters.
