Americans are divided on the extent to which the United States should be involved in resolving the Israel-Hamas war, a new survey finds.

In comparison, 39% think the US is not doing enough, and 19% think the US is doing too much.
Opinion polls show that the differences are fairly similar across party ideologies.

The survey found that Democrats are more likely than Republicans to say the country is taking appropriate steps to address the conflict. Forty-eight percent of Democrats say the amount is fair, compared to 33% of Republicans and 40% of independents.
Republican lawmakers, on the other hand, were more likely to say the U.S. has gone too far. 26% of Republicans say they are doing too much to resolve conflicts, compared to 11% of Democrats and 21% of independents.
The survey also found that Americans are deeply divided over U.S. aid to Israel and the Palestinians.
Among U.S. adults, 38% say they are taking appropriate steps to support Israel, but 36% say they are doing too much, and 24% say U.S. aid is The answer is that it is too small.
