Nikki Haley trails Donald Trump by just 4 points in NH poll

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley remains within reach of Donald Trump in New Hampshire's Republican presidential primary, according to a new poll, but strong support from independent voters puts her ahead. It was shown that they were leading by only 4 points.

The 77-year-old 45th president received the support of 37% of his 600 supporters. Possibly a voter survey Haley, 51, was a close second with 33%, according to the American Research Group.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie came in third place with 10% support, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was a distant fourth with just 5% support.

This result suggests that actual voter turnout among independents may be crucial to the outcome of the January 23 primary election.

In New Hampshire's Democratic primary that will be held on the same day, President Biden will not appear on the ballot, as the 81-year-old has insisted that the state will cede its No. 1 spot in the nation to South Carolina.

Voters can still write in Biden's name, and powerful Granite State Democrats are poised to thwart an embarrassing victory for their long-time rivals, including spiritual consultant and self-help author Marianne Williamson and Rep. New Hampshire voters will cast their ballots eight days after the Jan. 15 Iowa caucuses, where results often provide momentum for candidates ahead of the Granite State primary. According to RCP, polls show Trump leading second-place candidate DeSantis in Iowa by an average margin of 32.7 percentage points.

The Trump and Haley campaigns did not respond to requests for comment.
