Harry Dunn, the former Capitol Police officer who Blaze News is investigating over the Jan. 6 allegations, announced Friday that he is running for Congress.
What are the details?
Dunn is running as a Democrat for Maryland's 3rd Congressional District seat.
NBC News reported. The news network added that Dunn will join a “crowded” primary race to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Rep. John Sarbanes.
Dan posted on Friday:
campaign video To YouTube:
“On January 6th, I defended our democracy from insurrectionists as a Capitol Police officer. Then President Biden awarded me the Presidential Citizens Medal. Today, I defended Trump's MAGA extremism. And I'm running for Congress to make sure it never happens again,” Dunn said in the video's description.
“I believe we are literally one election cycle away from the demise of our democracy,” Dunn added in a phone interview with NBC News on Thursday, ahead of announcing his campaign.
The news network said the winner of the Democratic primary for Maryland's 3rd Congressional District seat in November will have an advantage. NBC News reported that Sarbanes won a ninth term in 2022 by a 20-point margin, adding that President Joe Biden won the district in 2020 by a 26-point margin. Daily Kos Elections calculated in that report.
Dunn doesn't live in the 3rd District, but told NBC News he plans to move there if elected. According to the news network, Dunn has cited abortion, gun control, mental health and crime as his campaign focuses.
Dunn, who retired from the Capitol Police on Dec. 17, told NBC News: “I believe I'm the best person for this job at this time, because physically, I've spent the last 15 years of my life… “Because I have spent my time defending democracy.”
“My platform is democracy,” Dunn added to the news network.
Blaze News continues to investigate Dunn.
As Mr. Dunn begins his parliamentary campaign, Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker said Friday that he continues to investigate Mr. Dunn's claims about January 6 and related issues.
The first thing everyone should know about the series about former United States Communist Party official Harry Dunn is that it's not even close to ending. We've already shown that his N-word claims about J6 (which made him a media darling) didn't happen. We revealed that there was a 180-degree turn between the two FBI interviews he gave that day about his interactions with four Oath Keepers. We know irrefutably from the video evidence that not only did both Dunn and Special Agent David Lazarus contradict each other in court testimony, but neither of them told the truth under oath. Indicated. .
We were shown Dan's anger issues and his behavior at Parliament House in J6, which caused the intervention of a senior police officer. (More details to come.) Just one week before Christmas, with the help of Congressman Jamie Raskin and the Capitol press corps, he posted a politically partisan anonymous letter on Capitol Police letterhead. We have revealed the identity of the person who wrote and distributed the letter. pool. and the subsequent concealment of the author's identity and subsequent suppression of disciplinary reports. The author was none other than Officer Harry Dunn. And the cover-up goes directly to the top of the Capitol Police leadership.
Unfortunately for current Congressional candidate Dunn and those who have been involved in the cover-up of his many hidden indiscretions both on and off duty, our series on 'A Day in the Life of Harry Dunn' has not yet begun. I just got it.
Mr. Baker's initial analysis of January 6th was completed in October 2023 after spending countless hours in his House subcommittee office examining frame after frame of the closed circuit video of January 6th. Announced. Did Pelosi lie in the Oath Keepers trial?
Shortly thereafter, Blaze Media Editor-in-Chief Matthew Peterson appealed to House Speaker Mike Johnson to release all videos due to the slow pace at which everything recorded on video can be viewed without restriction. . On November 17, 2023, Mr. Johnson did just that.
Mr. Baker's investigative work also led to two additional analyzes focused on Dunn. “January 6th and the N-word it wasn't” and “Harry Dunn's description of January 6th doesn't add up. At all.”
Meanwhile, Baker announced last month that the U.S. Department of Justice plans to prosecute him for a report he made on January 6, 2021. Baker said he was initially told he had to turn himself in on Dec. 19, but he was soon notified by the Justice Department. The FBI announced that the date has been postponed until after Christmas. Baker told Blaze News on Friday that his surrender date appears to be mid-January, but his lawyers are working to push it back to early February to accommodate his travel and work schedule. Ta.
