High-ranking TSA official arrested for allegedly exploiting family member with dementia

A senior Transportation Security Administration official was recently arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to reports. fox news digital. TSA Federal Security Director Maxine McManaman was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Atlanta on December 28.

McManaman had a warrant issued for his arrest by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in Florida. The warrant suggested she and her accomplice Delroy Chambers exploited her by forging documents in the name of her relative, who suffers from dementia.

For details of the warrant, Post on Facebook “U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Atlanta detained Maxine McManaman, Assistant U.S. Marshal for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), upon her arrival from an international flight on December 28, 2023,” the St. Lucie Police Department said in a statement.

“She was subsequently arrested on a PSLPD warrant for one count of forgery, a third-degree felony. She is currently being held in the Clayton County, Georgia Jail awaiting extradition to St. Lucie County.”

The investigation began in April after police reportedly received a call from someone wanting to report elder abuse. The name of the individual who made the call has not been released.

Florida authorities allege that Mr. McManaman and Mr. Chambers forged their signatures on severance forms and transferred ownership of real estate in their relatives' names to themselves. NBC News. The relative whose property was transferred to them was found to have been in Atlanta during the dates listed, so they would not have been able to sign the severance form.

According to FOX News Digital, Chambers was arrested and charged on Dec. 20 with two counts of exploitation of an elderly and disabled adult, simple neglect and forgery. However, Mr Chambers denied the allegations, saying:[i]It's a family matter. ”

In addition, McManaman faces a third-degree felony charge of forgery.

Mr. McManaman has been with TSA since 2002, holding management positions at airports.

A TSA spokesperson said the agency “holds our employees to the highest professional and ethical standards and does not tolerate misconduct on or off the job.”

The spokesperson continued: “[a]Employees who do not meet our basic ethical standards are held accountable. ”

Mr. McManaman has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by authorities. She is currently being held at the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia.
