“They've used everyone as an example in so many other cases, but are they going to just leave it at that? What's going on?” Chansley said at Turning Point USA in Phoenix, Ariz., in December. Speaking to Breitbart News at the annual America Fest conference.
After being asked if he thought the Democratic staffer in question should go to prison for his actions, Chansley replied: Were they trespassing? ”
Elsewhere in the interview, Chansley told Breitbart News that he had received “relatively good” treatment in prison since January 6, adding, “It's hard to believe that federal prisons are full of people who love the federal government. “No,” he quipped.
“It’s not like a security guard or a CO. [corrections officers] I voted for [President Joe] Biden — and federal prisons are not full of people who love the federal government,” Chansley said.
“So there was a lot of intrigue and curiosity from both correctional officers and inmates,” he added. “I was treated relatively well in that regard.”
