NBA reinstates Warriors’ Draymond Green after suspension

Draymond Green will be back on the court soon.

The NBA reinstated the Warriors forward after a 12-game suspension. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported on Saturday..

Charania said Green, who is undergoing counseling following his suspension, will undergo “periodic testing” after returning to the court.

Charania reported that the NBA and Warriors are “pleased” with Green's progress through this situation.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski Green reports that it will take about a week to prepare for the game.

Green was suspended indefinitely by the league in December for hitting Jusuf Nurkic with a spinning backfist.

This was his third physical altercation this season and his second suspension since putting Rudy Gobert of the Timberwolves in a headlock in November.

The NBA cited Green's “repeated history of unsportsmanlike conduct” as the reason for his indefinite suspension.

The 33-year-old Green's addition comes at a time when the Warriors are 17-18, with Chris Paul having broken his left hand in Friday's win over the Pistons and requiring surgery. He will be absent for the time being.

On the court this year, Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 points per game.
