Back in 2019, when federal authorities were closing in on Jeffrey Epstein for the second time, I embarked on a story debunking the conspiracy theory about why he blithely walked away from Jeffrey Epstein the first time. . It was that he was a government informant in a government crackdown. Crimes related to the financial crisis.
By talking to SEC officials, prosecutors, and Wall Street executives who know what the federal government has been doing since 2008, I have concrete evidence that it was all BS.
I was ready to write, but I had to make one more call — to the convicted sex offender himself. But how do you get in touch with someone like Epstein? He's not in the phone book. After that, he became an increasingly reclusive figure, hounded by the plaintiffs' lawyers representing his victims and the prosecutors who tried to do what they had failed to do in the first place: keep him away for life.
That night, I had dinner with two New York City power brokers and told them about my problems. A billionaire and well-known figure in New York business circles pulled out his iPhone and began giving me Epstein's number.
When I called Epstein the next day, he answered my questions and told me some interesting details about his life. “I'm not a pedophile,” he said. “The only thing worse than being called a pedophile might be being called a hedge fund manager.” And he wasn't one of them. He was a high-end broker for the ultra-wealthy. He also said he was not a rat. It's all bullshit that he cooperated with the federal government to get a lighter sentence.
Months later, he was arrested and weeks later found dead in his prison cell in an apparent suicide.
The point of this story is not to show how I am connected, but to show how Epstein was connected to the power elite. He knew everyone on Wall Street, a lot of people in Washington, and a lot of bigwigs in academia.
I can say with absolute confidence that the person who gave me his phone number is not part of Epstein's notorious pedophile ring. He may or may not have been on Epstein's whimsical private jet, the Lolita Express, and if he was, it was all business.
Why just a slap on the wrist?
Of course, Epstein is a man who is thoroughly disgusted by the crimes he committed. When he was first charged with child sex, it was still a mystery why he received such a light sentence, which was the origin of my reporting. But a trove of documents released last week took Epstein's sordid spectacle to a whole new level.
Listening to many of the class chatters, it seems likely that everyone Epstein has ever greeted is part of his circle of deceit and debauchery. And that's a shame. Guilt by association is what led us to red-baiting, crazy conspiracy theories like Pizzagate, and mob madness.
I'm not a fan of Bill Clinton's actions or policies, but he has now been “convicted” by at least part of the court of public opinion as an authorized member of Epstein's pedophile ring.
The reason for this is that Epstein's victims stated in their depositions that Epstein referred to the girls and said, “Clinton likes how young they are.''
How young is young, and where is the evidence that he acted on this alleged fetish? There is nothing.
The late Stephen Hawking is listed in the recent Epstein document dump. Yes, the eminent Cambridge physicist, crippled by ALS and spending much of his final years in a wheelchair, is undergoing Epstein treatment, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. That's because emails from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell, an alleged accomplice in the child sex trafficking ring, were found as part of the unsealed documents. Epstein was trying to get some of his accusers to retract their views on Hawking.
“Any ‘whistleblower’ can be offered a reward to help prove her allegations are false. . . “Stephen Hawking participated in an orgy of minors,” Epstein wrote. Because of this statement, should we really believe that Hawking was capable of having sex with minors?
Donald Trump's name was also found. He and Epstein have been friends for a long time and were even spotted partying in Palm Beach. In 2002, Trump told New York magazine that Epstein was a “great guy” and “a lot of fun to be around.” It is also said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are younger. There is no doubt about that. Jeffrey enjoys his social life. ”
We know that Mr. Trump has since said he had a falling out with Mr. Epstein, but the details remain unclear. However, his quote was not intended to criticize Epstein for sleeping with his children. Trump boasted about Epstein's taste in women. Like Clinton, he likes how young they are.
Should Epstein, Clinton, and now Trump be convicted of child abuse schemes? of course not.
Alan Dershowitz, one of Epstein's original lawyers, said his name has been dragged into the mud for years because one of Epstein's accusers also accused Dershowitz of rape. It's here. After years of litigation and embarrassment, the accuser finally did a 180 and said it may have been a huge mistake.
