Nick Carter speaks about the death of his sister Bobbie Jean Carter.

In a post on his Instagram, the Backstreet Boys singer shared a childhood photo of himself and his sister with a touching caption.

“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss that my family has endured over the years. Just recently, my sister Bobbi Jean passed away suddenly,” he began.

The post continued, “I am completely heartbroken. Thank you all for your love and kind words. We know life is precious and fleeting, and we cherish the time we spend with our loved ones. “This is another reminder to do what I do. I know she is finally at peace.” With God. I love BJ. ”

Bobby Jean was found “unresponsive” in the bathroom of his Florida home and died on December 23, the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“On December 23, 2023, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived at a residence in Tampa and located a female, later identified as Bobbie Jean Carter,” the statement reads.

“She was immediately transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where she was pronounced dead by hospital medical staff at 8:02 a.m.”

Investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office found that although Carter was on probation for cocaine possession, “there were no drugs or personal paraphernalia in Carter's room or bathroom. “We did not observe any signs of wrongdoing.”

Bobby Jean's death comes nearly a year after Carter's younger brother, former pop star Aaron Carter, died at age 34.

In November, Carter appeared emotional when interviewed about her brother's death.

“It's still unbelievable to me,” Nick told E! news. “I'm still processing the whole situation and trying to understand it, because I don't understand it.”

“Just, no matter what, he's my brother and I miss him. I love him. I hope it all makes sense someday, and I'm working on it.” “I'm here,” he added through tears.

Carter also lost her father, Robert Carter, in 2017, and her other sister, Leslie, in 2012.

After his father's death, he said of his family in 2017, “We're taking it one day at a time and dealing with it the best way we can.” “Nobody can prepare you for something like that, no matter the issues with your family. He's still my father. So naturally I'm conflicted, I'm sad, I'm sad, I'm angry, and I'm going through a lot of things along the way.” We've been through all the different things we do.'' But again, we're dealing with this the best way we can. ”
