Massive Explosion in Fort Worth Leaves Multiple Injuries

A “major incident” has occurred in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

On Monday afternoon, the Fort Worth Fire Department swiftly responded to reports of a gas explosion at the Sandman Hotel on Houston Street in downtown.

The explosion occurred within the W.T. Waggoner Building, a towering structure standing at 20 stories high.

Fort Worth Chief Communications Officer Reyne Telles described the scene and stated that “there was a plume of smoke seen higher than the high rises.”

According to Medstar, at least 11 people are injured. One patient is believed to be in critical condition while two are seriously injured.

Police and firefighters have urged citizens to avoid the area.
