Monday night was the first show. Jimmy Kimmel Live! Heading into 2024, Kimmel opened the show by mentioning his very real issues with Aaron Rodgers.
Last week, Rogers appeared on the show pat mcafee show Kimmel then implied that he would be on Jeffrey Epstein's flight log (which he did not do), which led Kimmel to threaten to take Rogers to court for defamation. Here's a little excerpt from Kimmel's monologue Monday night.
“[Rodgers] Perhaps he believes one of two things. He actually believes my name will be on Epstein's list, which is insane. Or, the more likely scenario is that he doesn't actually believe that and he just said it because he's mad at me. for making fun of his topknot and lies about vaccinations. I think he was particularly upset because I made fun of his outlandish statement that the UFO sightings that made the news in February were being reported to distract us from Epstein's list. That was Aaron's theory, and I scoffed at it. ”
Kimmel went on to show a clip from 2023 teasing Rodgers, which he believes is where things started. At this point, Kimmel continued to mock Rodgers' misinformation, and then he returned to the real root of the issue regarding Rodgers' claims against McAfee.
“I think Aaron Rodgers has the right to express whatever opinion he wants, but saying someone is a pedophile is not an opinion, nor is it 'trash talk,' sorry Pat.・McAfee. And as for the “you're always talking about people” argument, I certainly think so. It's not the same. It's not even close to the same thing. We say a lot on this show. we don't lie. In fact, we have a team that works diligently to vet facts and reliable sources before I make a joke, and that's the key difference. […] The truth still matters and it happens rarely, but you know what I do when I do something wrong? I apologize for that, but that's what Aaron Rodgers should do, that's what any sane person should do – but he doesn't, but what would I do if he found out? Accept his apology and move on. ”
Mr. Rogers is scheduled to appear. pat mcafee show He insisted he would address the issue with Kimmel on Tuesday. In fact, let's wait and see if he apologizes for making false claims about the late night host.
