After missing the playoffs for another season, the New Orleans Saints could make a big splash with their coaching staff this offseason.
NOLA.com reported Monday that members of the front office have met with Jon Gruden and there is “mutual interest” in him joining the coaching staff.
Gruden reportedly met with Saints officials during the team's Week 17 trip to Tampa, where they live.

The Saints even invited Gruden to a team meeting the night before the game, the newspaper reported.
Gruden coached Saints quarterback Derek Carr with the Raiders in both Oakland and Las Vegas, but racist and misogynistic emails were leaked during an investigation into the Washington commander and his workplace culture. As a result, he resigned in 2021, the fourth year of his 10-year contract.
Gruden is sue the NFLclaimed the emails were leaked in order to get him removed from the job.
“I'm ashamed of what happened in these emails and I'm not making excuses for it. It's embarrassing,” Gruden said in August 2022. “But I'm a good person. I believe that. I go to church.” “I've been married for 31 years. I have three great sons. I still love soccer. I've made some mistakes, but I don't think anyone here has ever made a mistake.And I just ask for forgiveness, and I hope I get another shot.'' ”

Gruden also said there are “a lot of misconceptions out there,” and even said it hurts to look at the network he used to work for.
“Well, I worked at ESPN for nine years. I worked hard at that job,” he said. “I don't want to watch the channel anymore because I can't believe everything.” [they say] That's true. I know a lot of it is just people wanting to see it. But I think we have to get back to reality. ”
Gruden coached the Raiders to the 2000 AFC Championship Game. In his first year as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he won his 2003 Super Bowl, defeating his former team.

He was inducted into the Bucks' Ring of Honor in 2017, but was removed in 2021 amid scandal.
New Orleans went 9-8 this season in Carr's first season as center, but the Bucks won the tiebreaker to win the NFC South.
