Texas deputies are investigating after two people were found dead inside the home of a former Williamson County judge.
Police received a report of a shooting at a residence on January 8 at approximately 11:45 p.m.
A 911 caller reported a shooting in the 300 block of County Road 317 near the Georgetown city limits, about 40 miles north of Austin, authorities said. FOX 7 Austin reported.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the Kearnses dead inside the home, FOX 7 Austin reported.

One suspect was taken into custody, officials said.
Deputies say there is no threat to the public, but are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing.

Kearns, the son of an FBI agent, comes from a family filled with members of Texas law enforcement, including Texas Rangers, Border Patrol agents and the Wilson County Sheriff, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
He retired in 2013 after serving as a judge in the 368th District Court for 24 years. According to the report, Kearns was re-elected six times, making it one of the longest tenures in county history.
In a 2013 interview, Kearns said he decided to become a judge rather than a politician, telling Austin's American Statesman that judges “have to follow the law and do what they think is right within the law.” told.
