Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill says his luxury Florida mansion is “finished” after the house went up in flames last week.
The NFL superstar's terrifying ordeal was captured on Tuesday's latest episode of “Hard Knocks,” when Hill met with Dolphins wide receivers coach Wes Welker and fellow wide receivers.
“It's done. The house is finished, brother,” Hill recalled. “Smoke damage, fire damage. The entire upper floor is burnt out. But we'll be okay.”
Just before 2 p.m. on January 3, smoke was seen coming from the upper floors of a Hills Southwest Ranches home, and the fire department was dispatched and the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire.
Hill was attending Dolphins practice and rushed home when the fire broke out.
He was later found outside his home with a walking boot on his left foot.
Hill, who led the league in receiving yards (1,799) and tied for most touchdowns (13) this season, purchased the home in 2022 for $6.9 million (later valued at $5.6 million).
The fire was reportedly caused by a child playing with a lighter and resulted in $2.3 million in damages. According to TMZ, Citing the incident report.

A 4-year-old child started the fire.

At the beginning of the episode, a Dolphins staff member hinted that Hill's home was too damaged for the receiver to sleep in.

Hill had seven receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 21-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the final regular season game since losing his home. If the Buffalo Bills win, they will win the AFC East.
Hill will be away from home this week as the No. 6 seed Dolphins play the No. 3 seed Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday.
