The Anti-Defamation League announced Thursday a new program to rank universities on their response to anti-Semitic incidents.

The organization publishes a new annual “report card” each spring. The ADL says the report card provides “a comprehensive tool and comparative rankings to assess what actions universities are taking to combat anti-Semitic hate on campus.”

“What has been allowed on our campus is unacceptable,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. “Universities must commit to not tolerate anti-Semitism and must take clear and decisive action to achieve that. It helps us compare and rank schools, but at the same time proves they are doing the right things on campus.”

This month, the ADL plans to send letters to universities with large Jewish populations informing them of the evaluation and requesting data on their efforts to combat anti-Semitism.
