The Yankees have added an arm to their rotation, agreeing to a two-year contract with right-handed pitcher Marcus Stroman worth an average of $18.5 million per year, pending a medical exam, the Post's Joel Sherman reported.
Strowman broke the ice by posting two photos on Instagram. One was an old photo and the other had Stroman's jersey and hat edited to reflect Yankees gear.
“I'm a New York Yankee,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
The Long Island native pitched two seasons with the Mets and most recently appeared in the All-Star Game with the Cubs in 2023.
In 2023, Stroman started 25 games for the Cubs, posting a 10-9 record with a 3.95 ERA.
Stroman joins a rotation that already includes Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon and Nestor Cortez, but the Yankees could add another piece.
Sherman said the Bombers are still likely to continue acquiring free agent Blake Snell and White Sox hurler Dylan Stopp in a trade.
