Hunter Biden said Friday that he would take a private deposition if Congress reissues the subpoena, because “at the time the subpoena was issued, there was no impeachment inquiry yet.” Hunter's lawyers said in a letter that they argued the previous subpoena was “legally invalid.” Congressional leaders obtained by Breitbart News.
The letter arrived just hours after the House voted next week to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress for repeatedly ignoring subpoenas. Mr. Hunter did not appear for a private deposition he was subpoenaed to take in December, instead offering to testify only publicly before the committee.
In response, the House Oversight Committee voted Wednesday to send a contempt of Congress motion against Hunter to the House floor.

Mr Hunter appears to be concerned that the House of Commons will approve his contempt. Hunter's attorney, Abby Rowell, told House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) that another If a subpoena is issued, Hunter said he intends to take a private deposition.
Therefore, the deposition subpoenas against Mr. Biden on November 8 and 9, 2023, and the contempt resolution approved by the committee on January 10, 2024 based on those subpoenas, are legally Void and legally void. You have not explained why you are not interested in transparency and having the American people witness Mr. Biden's full and complete testimony at the hearings. Issuance of a new and appropriate subpoena constitutes a formal authorized impeachment. If an investigation takes place, Mr. Biden is likely to respond to a hearing or deposition.
