How to approach Rams’ offense vs. Lions

Some choices are difficult. Lobster or crab? Do you dress according to the weather or style? Do you watch soccer or take a nap? Would you rather watch a Batman movie or take a nap? Would you rather watch another TikTok or do what is humanly possible? Do you do these things or take a nap?

Will you use the Rams' passing game or running game to build your wild-card weekend DFS roster? It doesn't make much sense to do both.

Correlation between players and games is a key component when creating daily fantasy rosters for NFL slates. Usually a quarterback/receiver combo is required. It is wise to use players from opposite sides of the same game. It makes sense to pair running backs with defense/special teams, etc.

Now, the shorter the slate, the more overlap you'll get between different correlation ideas, but in general, if you're leaning towards one team's passing game, you'll also want to take that team's running backs. I don't want to.

With six DFS contests scheduled from Saturday to Monday, we are not yet at the point where we can ignore these correlation boundaries. So we have a decision to make in one of the highest-scoring Wild Card games, Rams vs. Lions.

Will you use the Rams' passing game (Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, or some other combo)? Or will you go for their running game (Kyren Williams)?

Here are some key components to use towards your passing game. 1. Williams ($9,000 on FanDuel) is the most expensive of the Rams' options. 2. Williams has been the most productive of the available RBs this season and also has the highest scoring average of the flex options, so his usage rate is expected to be higher than other Rams options. 3. The Lions have been the stingiest defense against fantasy RBs all season (at least in PPR, even though FanDuel is only half a point away).

4. I don't think Kupp will be used much this week since he missed the final week, his season wasn't as great as expected, and Nacua's explosive rookie season. we are thinking. Additionally, Kupp ($7,500) is cheaper than his Nacua ($8,000).

And while I like the idea of Baker Mayfield ($7,200) being able to face the Eagles' pass defense, which has been a revolving carousel lately, the upside you get with Stafford ($7,400) for a little bit of money is too much to pass up. It's also very affordable.

The problem is now resolved. I'm using Ram's Stack. The decision has been made. It's time for a nap.

where there are wild things

Josh Allen QB, Bills vs. Steelers (Fanduel $9,300/DraftKings $8,000)

It's cold and snowy so not ideal. But the wind is strong, so it's no good. Squall possible. Yeah, that's not good either.

Tyreek Hill WR, Dolphins vs. Chiefs (FD $9,400/DK $8,700)

It's not snowing, but it's cold. It's really cold. No, it's colder than any kind of cold you can think of right now. While not as restrictive as Buffalo, the weather isn't exactly conducive to the strong Miami offense.

Do you want to bet on the NFL?

Isaiah Pacheco RB, Chiefs vs. Dolphins (FD $8,000/DK $6,400)

Miami's injuries extend to its defense as well. Pacheco's bruising style can become especially uncomfortable for defensemen as it gets colder, leading to more cross-arm tackles.

Najee Harris RB, Steelers, Bills (FD $6,500/DK $5,400)

Both passing games will likely be grounders, so they'll look to take whatever is closest to a lead back against a Bills defense that has been average compared to the run this year.

Baker Mayfield QB, Buccaneers vs. Eagles (FD $7,200/DK $5,800)

Only the managers had worse pass protection this season. Assuming Mayfield plays (and we think he will), he should be able to more than deliver for his cheap price.

Elijah Moore WR, Browns, Texans (FD $6,000/DK $4,000)

They'll likely flock to Amari Cooper or David Njoku to pair with Joe Flacco, but we like Moore's affordability and upside.

Elijah Moore, pictured earlier this season, has a good price point, which bodes well for Sunday fantasy football owners.
